How I Met Your Mother Season 9 Episode 23 Torrent Kickass
It’s very late and I’m on vacation so the bulk of this will have to wait, thought I really want to know your thoughts on some things. First off, I thought the episode was solid.
Great flashbacks, worked pretty well on continuity I thought and kept me laughing all the way through. Barney’s awesomeness and inability to take a bad photo was great. Marshall’s love for games came through even at Lily’s party too and that really made me laugh. A ton of great moments and quoted but I wonder what stuck out to you. Secondly, Did the one year from now birthday shot tell us anything? To me it says that Ted isn’t with the Mother yethas he 'met' her, possibly (or possimpibly, whatever) but since it’s just the 5 of them I would say that Ted isn’t with a 'the one' girl. No Don either and you would think that after a year it would be acceptable.
He could just be out of town but I would put my money on him being gone within the year. Also, it may be a small detail but Marshall & Lily are in the same place. No baby either.I had heard once that LAME might have a baby but I hope not since it would change the show dynamic a lot! Did you see anything else? Reading other items of interest in? It’s in my nature to search for these things, but I miss a lot. What did you see?
I loved Marshall’s happy Birthday Lily (Lori?) songthat guy cracks me up. But the French Rap song just awful. Well placed, but it was so bad it was comical. It’s 'Briques'. I can’t find the song for sale but it could be under a different name, I’ve left you the Amazon and iTunes band links above if you want to search and report back.
I’m horrible at French and draw the line for listening to music at something that horrible where that combines the worst elements of rap and a language I don’t understand. I’ll do my regular roundup soon but for now, what did you think?

I liked it a lot, even more I think because I really didn’t like the last one and it was nice to see it was just a one time thing and that they still got it. The thing where they wrote stuff about each other on those cards and Lily had to guess who wrote it was nice, and Barney’s one, classic.

One thing that they didn’t really have to mention was Marshall saying his balls were huge during Lily’s 2 months abroad. But all in all great laughs, funny anecdotes and a nice ending. Is it just me or did it look like Lily might be pregnant a year from now? There was something about the dress so is it just a coincidence or did they actually plan on it?
Anyone think so too? Well I really loved that episode.
Just to relate to the previous comment I don’t think Marshall said his balls were huge, I think he said “bleu” as in Blue in French but I may be mistaken. I did love the “Never a bad picture” skill of Barney, though I though making Robin Win during the last forward was a bit stupid, I would have liked this legend to remain one. Speaking of the forward, I am a bit disappointed, a few episodes back Ted started dating the roommate of his future wife (with something about her yellow umbrella) and I though it meant the story was going to go forward about that; this forward, with lily not pregnant, and Robin single, make it seem a way to say “Hey it’s not over yet, we want some more seasons”.
Which is not bad thing; I love the show the way it is. I just find it a bad way to announce it. A little like when they make the end of a movie an obvious “BlaBla 2 coming Up Soon”. But it was a lot of fun anyway. So it must just have been me but I felt like the episode started out weird. I didn’t like the whole Lily storyline until the second commercial break or so. When Ted pointed out she was being a birthday brat I felt a little better about it.

I think it was just a weird side of Lily that I didn’t care for. But the episode perked up with the whole Barney story line. I don’t think Lily was pregnant in the forward, I think she still has some weight from her own actual pregnancy, so they are putting her in a fuller wardrobe then the earlier seasons. That’s why we got the empire waisted full skirt dress in the forward. Best part of the whole episode was Barney singing “Happy happy Lily dayhappy happy Lily day”.

But soon after Marshall and Lily's engagement, Ted believed that his life mate was going to be news reporter and aspiring news anchor Robin Scherbatsky, who, despite having had a romantic relationship with her after this time, ended up being who the kids know as their 'Aunt' Robin. As Ted relays the story to his kids, the constants are that their Uncle Marshall, Aunt Lily, Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin are always in the picture and thus have something to do with how he got together with their mother.
