Happy new year to all at had70. This year a man from Japan got me joe chemay -riper the finer cd (brand new) and jay gruska which one of us is me cd (brand new 1999- long our of print 2nd jewel case edition) for just $25 each and no shipping charge. I met this person on ebay and although we only talk briefly he did all this for me just to be kind (making sales outside of ebay).
He could’ve sold the sealed new jay grusksa for $50 on ebay no problem and even the joe chemay for 30-40. He said he called his record store connections in Tokyo for me to help find. What a nice person. He paid his own money and time to help me for nothing.
Anyway, i just thought i would share the story because i know had and twinspark are Japan and others too, and is nice to hear about the nice things your fellow country people do selflessly to help a stranger fan. Hope you all have a good 2013. What a great site. Forever the best.
Only more legendary. Just like a great band on an indefinate break; ).
Hi twinspark & had70, Thanks for read my message, but a friend in Spain bought the original version in vinyl of the first album by Joey. And in some days, I receive this gem through the traditional mail in my country. I’m very happy!, but my wife suffered a strong personal impact, as a result of the inability (through MegaUpload) to download the album The Bridge by Lenny LeBlanc, because she lost it in an old HD with factory defects. We may change our question (sorry)?
Now, we need again the album of LeBlanc (1996) and we apologize for this unexpected situation in the last hours. Thanks in advance, friends. Now we are delaying the update of the blog intentionally but it will never closed.
The reason for the delay is because I personally have tangled three factors. 1) The exists of the money-making act by the certain site which by use the our link. 2) Of course, the damage by the shut down megaupload exists but it is not the biggest factors for me.
Although a possibility that our link will returned is hopeless, the final statement have not yet been announced. 3) My own posting materials has been close to empty We may keep a little more intentionally delayed but information exchange and sharing is possible in the comments section. “The exists of the money-making act” has not resolve anything, but.
I surely said it to you in the past. I had planned to post it, but I would not post it anywhere because unfortunately my mind has changed The reason is, it is stealing regularly our blog’s link by a certain membership site.(including visitor’s link in the comments section ) It has been often from before and latest posts has been also stolen. If only the stealing of link, it would not be so much serious problem for me. (because I do it sometimes too I will not able to condemn it.) They will get pocket money by using our link.
(donations will be collected during registration.) I will not posting here a link to the certain site, please try search from the latest posts. It can be found easy. If I post “Mickey Carroll’s album”, they would do it again as usual It might be very small donations but I can not accept their act! Please understand my mind. Hello to everyone. Now i recognice a lot of users here who belong to soulseek, like “nutrust”, “turkejte”, “salem”, etc. The thing is why don’t everybody shares on that software (soulseek) instead of here?

Everybody see here that what is happening, closing deposit of links like megaupload or deleting the links. That program, is more safety i think, the exchange is peer to peer and you can do some “rooms” and put your name, to make an society and many good others stuffs, i recommend that software for the people who they don’t know about it, i found a lot of greates things like the things that you see in my blog.
Anyway, best wishes and sorry my english. Esteban a.k.a The Exclusive Collector from slsk.
But yes, this one is still pretty good i think. About my turntable: i only use an old fashioned technics 1210, but with a good system on it (the golden needle edition, don’t remember the name, but it is not the “hip hop” needle.i will have one or two surprises for you left the next days! (by the way: twinspark told me that there might be another music blog that is stealing our work and making a deal out of it! That sounds bad and i will talk with twinspark how we should go on. He asked me if i take the risk to put the album on front page here, and i will check out the situaton. Two for Tuesday: Elaine Paige “Elaine” 1981 CD rip @ 320.mp3 Elaine has one of may favourite voices of all time.
This is really her only non-showtune oriented album. David Roberts “All Dressed Up” 1982 CD rip @ 320.mp3 There’s probably a reason this hasn’t been posted here before (it’s one of the best Westcoast/AOR albums of all time) but it amused me how similar the cover was to the Elaine Paige album and the thought of it appearing on the blog along side it seemed to good to pass up. We’ll see, I guess. Hi Warrian, thanks for the Elaine Paige! As concerning David Roberts i have to say: it is my all-time favourite AOR Album.
Every track a killer gem. (and you’re right, the roberts-paige covers look similar what is nice, but the sound couldn’t be more different).
Maybe there is a reason for David Roberts not to e here: maybe this is so much a classic, that you should have it without the blog and have the blog for the more “diggin” and experimental stuff. Well, just an interpretation for something i guess nobody did intentional.see ya.
Here we are with that.ziplinks Hope it works ok. I think some time back i had trouble in my country or with my computer settings- not sure what it was -in ever successfully completing an upload to sharebee so i got put off the mirror sites (had same prob with couple of other sites, even rapidshare for uploading. In fact everyone around world seems to report a largely different experience with each of the many filehost sites don’t they even if megaupload an drapidshare have perhaps been among the most widely popular. I start to think it depends on region). I agree choice is obviously best.
If this works ok (as it seems to when i click links now) i’ll use this when uploading anything from now on. Hope i picked what are good sites in the mirror thing? Out of date myself on what’s good with these at the moment (seems like Many new ones recently) Cheers, Alec. Warrian allow me to advice you and Carole that restoring albums from mp3 is a crap “transcoding” job u must convert original mp3 into wav, edit it with tools and then reconvert wav to mp3 losing 50% of the original quality it would be ok if Carole would upload flac or wav or aif (as u asked) of his rips if for restoring and not mp3 The Carole ‘Fire & Rain’ 1972 original rip i’m listening is already almost perfect (no clicks, skips, jumps) and good quality too (except fot the first track sudden drop of gain). No need of restoring so i’d avoid the transcoded “restored” version to keep the original cutting the soft background vinyl hiss with restoring don’t worth the loss of sound quality caused by the reconversion Big thanks for all the great job on the rest, but please! Everybody avoid sharing transcoded rips. Hi friends, I appreciate the important help with ‘The Bridge’ of Leblanc and I wait gradually the active links of many Westcoast’s artists, with failed links.
I recommend the more stable services (MU or MF), maybe for journalists like me and the fanatics of good music, in general. It’s necessary stay alive for the quality of the material of this excellent Blog. Thanks again, the authors of this website and all members they have my help.
Greetings from this corner of the world, friends. Marcelo Rey South America (Uruguay). 3 Rare David Foster Related 7″ Singles ripped @ 320 Kbps.mp3 All of these tracks have not been released on full-length albums, compilations or CDs. Ted Neely “Paradise” (Ed Sanford & Johnny Townsend) B/W “Don’t Let It Mess Your Mind” (Neil Sedaka & Phil Cody) 1975 Mel Carter “I Don’t Want to Get Over You”. (Rupert Holmes), “You Changed My Life Again” (David Foster, Jay Graydon & Marc Jordan), “Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong” (Kenny Loggins & Richard Page) 1980. These are two singles with no designated A-Side.
“I Don’t Want to get Over You” was featured on both though. There was also no picture sleeve issued but I included a pic of Mel from the era. Alan Thicke “Thicke of the Night”. (David Foster, Jay Graydon & Alan Thicke) B/W “Grandma” (David Foster & Alan Thicke) 1984. This was the theme song for a late night talk show Thicke hosted in Canada and while all of these tracks exceeded my expectations.
This tune kind of blew me away. Guthrie Thomas “Guthrie Thomas I” 1975 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 Guthrie Thomas “Lies & Alibis” 1976 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 Although each of these is full of westcoast all-stars, Guthrie is a folk artist in the Bob Dylan tradition. Some blues, some rock, some country all wrapped around the lyrics, which tend to be the highlights. “Band of Steel” on Lies & Alibis was written by Richard Starkey, who some of you might be familiar with from his work with his previous band. These LPs both came in excellent+ condition and the rips came off great (god bless Click Repair). This is really good news too because there is a lot of quiet acoustic guitar moments here that would have been ruined with noisy vinyl. Paul Jabara “Keeping Time” 1978 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 This is mostly a disco album and has been an available as a download elsewhere for sometime.

That rip that is not real great though in my opinion, especially the heavy noise reduction on the first track which is one of the best ones here. For you non-disco fans out there, if you make to the end, you will be rewarded with a westcoast ballad that is really ahead of its time production-wise. It sounds much more like an 80’s arrangement to me. Anne Bertucci “Cool Hand” 1983 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 Anne Bertucci’s second album with one track (Love Is a Symphony) left over from the sessions of her first. The vinyl was in pretty good shape with the exception of track 4 (Mercury Love) which has 4 bad jumps in it. Normally, even if I can’t fix these, I smooth them over a bit. This time I decided to leave it just as it was in case someone more talented than me wanted to take a crack at fixing it.
The song (the only one written by Bertucci herself) however, may not be worth the trouble. A lot of west coast all-stars here, even in the writing dept, but this was an attempt to be the next Heart or Pat Benatar and it didn’t succeed.

Ref: My rip of Bertucci’s much better (but not great) 1981 debut can be accessed here. Bruce Miller “Rude Awakening” 1975 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 Another country cross-over attempt but unlike Randy Sharp who is a real honky-tonk artist when he wants to be, Miller is more of a singer-songwriter in the vain of Jackson Browne (at the time) etc., whose music is a hybrid of country, folk and pop. I believe this is David Foster’s first job as a producer. This record was in perfect condition and you can really hear it in the rip. References: And here’s a little bonus share: Becky Hobbs “Everyday” 1977 This is not my rip. I took and existing rip that was very clipped and brought it down to make it more listenable (I export at 320 but this was actually from a 192 source). I ran click-removal on it and fixed the beginning and ending of each track, restored the original track names and here you have it.
Some good tunes. Paul Anka “Both Sides of Love” 1981 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps This completes the Paul Anka cycle from “The Music Man” to “Walk a fine Line” (and I also highly recommend downloading “Somebody Loves You” too. A link is provided in this thread by Sergio Garcia). This was the album of Paul’s I was least looking forward to as it doesn’t include the all-star line-up of musicians that drew me to the others.
Still, there are a couple of great songs on this one. Especially “You’re Still a Part of Me” and “Look What You’ve Done.” I’ve had a lot of good luck with vinyl lately. This rip is very clean and I have really clean rips of Bruce Miller’s “Rude Awakening” and Steven T’s “West Coast Confidential” coming in the next day or so. Randy Sharp “First in Line” 1976 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps. Randy Sharp was a big-time seventies country star who was trying to have a pop crossover hit with this album (confusingly his second titled “First in Line”). It pretty much works as he and his cast of usual westcoast suspects get the right feel down but “First in Line” lacks that one song that needs to hit the singles charts for this kind of experiment to really be considered a success.
It probably doesn’t help that the few times he’s actually doing country on here is were he really sounds at home. The vinyl was pristine and this is probably the cleanest rip I’ve done to date. Paul Anka “Music Man” 1977 vinyl rip at 320 Kbps.mp3 Paul Anka “Listen to Your Heart” 1978 vinyl rip at 320 Kbps.mp3 I ripped “Music Man” because the rip I was able to find elsewhere was overdriven, clipped and abrasive. That said, I had to fix several problem spots in the vinyl and was not able to fix one key spot on track 3.
That was kind of a bummer. “Listen to Your Heart” on the other hand fared much better and is IMO the better album anyway. It’s certainly more in the westcoast style.
On “Music Man” they seem to be trying make Paul the next Boz Scaggs, while “Listen” is a bit mellower and he seems more comfortable in that setting. Couldn’t find any decent references for these other than AMG. I’ve got a lot of cool stuff on the way (Bruce Miller, Lorna Wright, Randy Sharp and Madelaine to name a few) so keep on the look out.
So glad to see you back had70. Hello, First of all, congrutulations for your blog, it’s really amazing. Airwaves “New Day” 1977 vinyl rip @ 320 kbps.mp3 Airwaves “Next Stop” 1979 vinyl rip @ 320 kbps.mp3 Very British sounding and not very Westcoasty, but pretty good light rock nonetheless.
“You Are the New Day” was apparently a pretty big hit in the UK in 1977. It’s not hard to see why. Someone earlier in this thread asked for these a while back, which is why I’ve ever heard of them in the first place. Hopefully that person still checks in here from time to time. No more vinyl rips from me for a little while.
I will update Paul Anka’s “Walk a Fine Line” with a 320 rip of the already out-of-print 2010 remaster in the next week or so though so watch for that. First off, I apologize if it is insensitive of me to do a bunch of music posts on day in which we got troubling news about had70. I have a limited amount of time here before things get very busy and I wanted to fulfill as many of my music promises as I can before I have to go away for a bit. I hope had70 would approve. My thoughts are with him.
The Faragher Brothers “The Faraghers” 1979 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps mp3 References: The B-side of the vinyl had some bad diagonal scratches on it. Mostly this just resulted in some unwanted pops that were easy to see and just as easy to remove.
I had to remove a couple bars of a rather neat guitar solo too because the sound got so jumbled and confused. I think though, given this was the condition of the record, it turned out okay. Let me know if you find any skips. I may still be able to fix them. I have only the two Airwaves albums left to rip which I intend to do this weekend. Eric Mercury “Eric Mercury” 1975 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps.mp3 This is really a light R&B album like Donny Gerard’s from around the same time.

The best way to jump into one of the most surprising shooters of 2016 is with the Titanfall® 2 Ultimate Edition.
It is notable to westcoast fans for featuring David Foster on Piano on 8 of the 10 tracks (His stand-in on track 3 is David Paich no-less). In fact, as far as I can see, this album features all the members of Attitudes who were George Harrison’s backing band at the time. “Love Enough” is a first-class westcoast piano ballad and Eric even tries his hand at a country song, so you can’t say he’s not diverse. His voice reminds me a lot of Richie Havens. References: I should have Chris Ducey’s “Duce of Hearts” ready for you tomorrow and a 320 update of Paul Anka’s “Walk a Fine Line” in a week or so.
Then I’ll have to take a break for a bit. Peter McCann – Peter McCann 1977 vinyl rip @ 320 Kbps Got this in the mail today. It appeared to be in pretty bad condition but I attempted the rip anyway and it turned out surprisingly well.
With “Do You Wanna Make Love” and “Right Time of the Night” widely available, I wasn’t expecting much but there are a some tunes worth having here. My favorite so far is the closer “If You Can’t Find Love” which has a nifty A Capella break near the end. Anyway, I know a lot of folks have wanted it for a while so here it is.
References: — Next up is Eric Mercury ST 1975 in the next day or so. I also have a “new” copy of “The Faraghers” 4th album on the way, but it may be the end of the month before you see that show up here. Baron Longfellow “Baron Longfellow” 1980 vinyl rip @ 320 kbps mp3 Before you get too excited, there is a really unfortunate track skip in the opening cut and lead-off single from the album “Amour.” Nothing I did (and I tried everything I could think of) worked to fixed it or allowed me to capture the track cleanly. Other than that, the vinyl was in really good condition and the rip turned out very clean. Still kind of heartbroken about that skip though. Any ideas any of you have to fix it, let me know. Next up: Peter McCann st 1978, Chris Ducey “Duce of Hearts” 1975, Eric Mercury st 1975.
Debby Boone – Debby Boone 1979 vinyl rip a 320 kbps mp3 Was hearing this for the first time tonight as I was ripping it and there’s a lot of variety here, like Olivia Newton-John’s “Totally Hot” from the previous year. The few shots at recreating “You Light Up My Life” don’t bring things down too much. The last song by our pal Bruce Roberts is really dramatic and of course the disco stomper “Meet Me on the Dance Floor” features the one and only David Foster on keys and arrangements. Let me know if you hear any skips.
I use the default settings (60/auto/off or default lp). Believe me, it’s better than audacity, cool edit pro or sound studio in mac and it’s fast and it usually works fine in auto mode. After that, I use sound studio to make the fade in-out at start-end of the songs trying to preserve all the stuff in the song and to split the songs. Sometimes you have to fix some clicks manually by deleting some samples of the waveform if possible (in this lp it was not possible without trimming the song in an audible way) There are some frequencies that always suffer in the process, but, with no congas in the song (those are the frequencies) or with more training with the software than mine, results use to be very good.
In honour of the good news concerning the safety of had70 and his family, I purchased a “like new” copy of Renee Armand’s “In Time” album. It will take some time to get to me and I do not even own a turntable. If I cannot find one, hopefully twinspark and I can work out a way for him to get the record and do the rip himself. This may take a while so please be patient.
But at least there is new hope that we may all be listening to this at some point in the future. Now, somebody start working on a way to find Rain Book from 1972. That one has actually seen a CD release at some point. Thank you for your information. I do not have the work tool which converts vinyl LP to mp3 now. The turntable is removed and is putting it away for a long time.
I do not have the plan setting up a turntable again, but I might return to vinyl collectors when I set it in the future. But I want to avoid it as much as possible. About Renee Armand’s Rain Book, it was surely sold with a CD in Japan.(out of print) I am sometimes found with a used CD, but they are very expensive. For the same reason, I gave up “Marcus Joseph” and “Peter McCann” and “Patti Weaver” recently. In any case I am glad if you set up a work tool of ripping by yourself and a share does “In Time” album in this blog. We wait patiently.
In that case, advice from “Kosta” will be useful. He is a specialist in rip work. Can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have found this blog and discovered so much new (old) and neglected music. Thought I would share my wishlist just in case any of these titles are floating around out there.
I’m sure some of them have been mentioned before. Anne Bertucci st 1981 (particularly this one) Anne Bertucci “I Need You” 1982 Anne Bertucci “Cool Hand” 1983 Scott English st 1978 Eric Mercury st 1975 Bruce Miller “Rude Awakening” 1975 Renne Armand “In Time” 1978 Sneaker st 1981 Sneaker “Loose in the World” 1982 Dixon Hill “Masked Madness” 1981 Airwaves “New Day” 1978 Airwaves “Next Stop” 1979 In any case, please keep doing what your doing and thanks for all you’ve done.
